Plymouth’s Rapid Transit System was akin to Ford’s Total Performance and Dodge’s Scat Pack. It was a marketing tool to boost public awareness of, and generate interest in - Plymouth’s range of potent muscle cars. And just as importantly - it was all about Fun with a capital F. This stuff was designed to appeal to the youth of America…so loud colours, cartoons, horns that went ‘Beep Beep’ like the Road Runner, and cars with lots of stripes and scoops and a lot of power. What’s not to like about the Rapid Transit System?
