The most famous name in the four-wheel drive pantheon – Jeep started as robust, go-anywhere US Army vehicles made by various manufactures including Ford. After the war the name was bought by Willys, who then sold it to American Motors Corporation (AMC) – who sold it to Chrysler in the 1980s.
