Formed in 1926 by five brothers - Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore and Ernesto. One of the first Maseratis, driven by Alfieri, won the Targa Florio that same year, starting a legend. Maserati’s would go on to win races across Europe until the 1950s, after which the company focused on high powered, beautiful and expensive grand touring road cars.
The famous trident logo of the Maserati car company was designed by Mario Maserati and based on the Fountain of Neptune in the Piazza Maggiore in Bologna. The badge has graced the hood and flanks of some of the finest road cars ever made including the superb 3500GT, Ghibli and Khamsin with front mounted race-bred alloy V8. Not to forget the gorgeous rear-engine 1970s exotics such as the Bora V8 and Merak V6.
