Jensen Motors produced the Interceptor four-seat GT car from 1966 to 1976. Hand built and with luxurious well-equipped interiors featuring contoured leather seats, the Interceptor was equipped with Chrysler running gear sourced from the US. Power came from a Chrysler 383 cubic inch (6.3 liter) Magnum V8 mated to the legendary Torqueflite three-speed automatic. When the 383 powerplant was detuned to cope with unleaded fuel in the early ‘70s, Jensen switched to Chrysler’s biggest V8, a 440 (7.2 liter) cubic inch monster. Offering trouble-free rapid motoring in a handsome body, the Interceptor remains a popular collector car.
The Jensen-Healey two-seater sports car was available from 1972 through to the closure of the company in 1976. Powered by a Lotus 907 two liter four cyclinder engine with twin cams and four valves per cylinder, mated to a 4 and later 5 speed gearboc, the J-H offered spritely performance. Though plagued with mechanical and electrical issues, the J-H was Jensen’s best selling model - shifting over 10,000 units.
