Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobil - ALFA, was formed in 1910 and became Alfa Romeo from 1920 when it was renamed to reflect its’ long time director Nicola Romeo. The company soon earned a reputation for success on race tracks across Europe throughout the 1920s and ‘30s. Grand Prix success continued after World War Two, the knowledge gained in racing filtering through to the range of light, powerful road cars beautifully styled by the likes of Pinin Farina. Here we look back on some of the great Alfas of the post-war period up to the 1980s, via original print advertisements and factory promotional material. Models include the Guilia, Veloce, 1900, Spider, Alfetta, GTV coupe and the superb V8 Montreal released in 1970.
